A Psalm of Longing

O Lord, my refuge and my strength,
You have placed love within my heart,
A love that longs not for itself, but for another,
A gift that speaks of Your eternal promise.

Her presence is as the rain upon the thirsty earth,
Refreshing, renewing, and filling my soul with hope.
Though distance keeps her from my sight,
Her memory lingers like the fragrance of spring,
A quiet reminder of the joy You have promised to come.

How my heart yearns, O Lord,
For the sound of her laughter once more,
For her eyes to meet mine in the light of Your blessing.

Yet, in this longing, I do not despair,
For You, O God, are the keeper of all things,
And Your timing is perfect beyond my understanding.

Teach me patience, O Lord, as I wait,
Not with idle hands, but with a heart full of trust.

For every moment spent longing is a moment of growth,
Every tear shed is a seed of joy yet to bloom.

You have written this love upon my heart,
Not as a burden, but as a promise.
A promise that whispers in the quiet of my soul,
Telling me that she is near,
And that Your hand is guiding her steps toward me.

O Lord, in the stillness of waiting,
You have taught me the beauty of trust.
My faith rests not in what I see,
But in the certainty of Your Word.
And so, I will wait, O God,
With patience as the mountains wait for the morning light,
With hope as the rivers flow toward the sea.

For You, O Lord, are faithful,
And Your promises are sure.

Blessed are You, O God of love and mercy,
For in longing, You have drawn me closer to You.
In waiting, You have strengthened my heart.

And in her, You have shown me a glimpse
Of the love that flows from Your eternal throne.
